Ensemble Rupture

The Rupture ensemble was born out of an realization: only 2.3% * of the pieces that are part of the classical music programs were composed by women. Driven by the desire to share outstanding music, the Ensemble Rupture is committed to showcasing masterpieces composed by women and to giving visibility to remarkable composers of all eras.

With a program ranging from baroque to contemporary creation, the ensemble sets up a space for research and intends to promote dialogue between composers of the past with those of today.

In their projects, the ensemble explores the scenic aspect of the concert and questions the classical music concert format itself. By forging links between music and other arts such as theater, dance, literature, video and visual arts, his shows are conceived as a whole, in an experience that goes beyond the usual concert situation.

Selected from among several entrepreneurial projects, the ensemble is currently developing within Pulse Incubator Hes, the high-potential project incubator of the HES -SO Geneva. It also has the support of Softweb, which selects social innovation projects.

Her artistic projects have been nurtured by the Women in Opera Workshop of the Aix en Provence Festival Academy and discussions with the Opéra du Rhin.
