Argentine conductor Silvina Peruglia, based in Europe since 2017, holds a Master’s degree in Conducting from the Haute École de Musique de Genève. 

For the 2024-2025 season, she has been appointed Assistant Conductor at the Opéra National de Lorraine, where she will conduct six symphonic projects and assist with five operatic productions, in addition to returning to the Orchestre National d’Auvergne as a guest conductor, among others.

Since her operatic debut in 2012, Silvina has conducted productions of Die Fledermaus, Così fan tutte, Le Nozze di Figaro, Luisa Fernanda, Don Giovanni, and L’Élixir d’amour in Buenos Aires. The 2023-2024 season marked her debut at the Opéra Nouvel de Fribourg and the Opéra de Lausanne, where she conducted Les aventures du Roi Pausole, co-produced by NOF and HEMU.

Silvina has conducted renowned orchestras such as the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève, Orchestre National d’Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Orchestre de l’Opéra de Lorraine, Ensemble Contrechamps, and Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional Argentina, among others. 

She has been invited to prestigious events for young conductors, including the 56th International Competition of Besançon, the Gstaad Conducting Academy, and the Aix-en-Provence Festival. In 2024, she was selected to participate in the La Maestra International Female Conductors’ Competition at the Philharmonie de Paris.

As a Mentee in the Taki Alsop Conducting Fellowship Mentoring Program, Silvina benefits from the guidance of Marin Alsop and other esteemed female conductors. She also counts Peter Eötvös among her mentors, who invited her to his conducting masterclasses at the Peter Eötvös Contemporary Music Foundation.

Silvina has worked as an assistant conductor for opera with Georg Fritzsch, Antonio Pappano, and Roberto Fores Veses, collaborating in productions at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, Opéra de Vichy, and Teatro Colón, among others. She has also worked with contemporary composers like Martin Matalon and Philippe Leroux.

She has been awarded several scholarships, including the Excellence Scholarship from the Haute École de Musique de Genève – Wilsdorf Foundation, as well as support from the Engelberts, Edmond de Rothschild, Peter Eötvös Contemporary Music Foundation, OSSESP Foundation, and Mozarteum Argentino.

Originally from Buenos Aires, Silvina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Conducting from the Universidad Nacional de las Artes (UNA) in Argentina. Her Master’s and Bachelor’s projects, which focused on Mozart-Da Ponte operas, received the highest marks, and her Bachelor’s thesis was published in the UNA musicological journal.
